The last time a U.S. Senator became president was on January 20, 1961. John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States.
On January 20, 2009, another U.S. Senator will become the 44th President of the United States.
A progressive conservative reclaims a common sense moderate majority over left wing silliness and right wing craziness.

If I am not mistaken, there were only two Senators whom share the distiction of winning the office of President, John Kennedy and Warren Harding. Unfortunately they share one other distiction, they both died while in office.
What an astute observation. I had no idea who, if anyome, preceded JFK in that disctinction. If that is all accurate, odds would be on a McCain victory--but then I always see that happening. Thanks for that info.
