Hillary Clinton Doing Very Well

9:10 p.m. Windy City Time

Hillary Clinton has won Rhode Island, Barack Obama has won Texas and Vermont. At present, with 14% of the vote counted in Texas, Obama’s win there appears to be narrow. Ohio is still too close to call but I presume she will win there but a greater than narrow victory. With 35% of the vote counted in Ohio, she has 57% of the vote. She’s in to stay...7 weeks of blood sport Clinton style to Pennsylvania!

I think you may be getting ahead of yourself in Ohio. I keep hearing that Cuyahoga (sp?) County isn't in yet and that should be big for Obama.

I would love to see Hillary and Obama beat the hell out of each other for a little longer, but I don't think she has a chance.

A couple observations....

Hillary just reminded everyone in Ohio that no candidate (Dem or Republican) has gone on to win the Presidency without winning Ohio. Good idea to plant the seed of doubt about Mr. Wonderful.

Hillary was great on SNL this past weekend. She was also plugged by Tina Fey (the hippest woman on TV) last week. If you haven't seen Tina Fey's bit on Weekend Update, you need to - It's hilarious. The bit this week showed the softer side of Hillary - something she desperately needs to do.

Someone said McCain is doing lunch with Bush tomorrow?!?!?!
Why associate yourself with a guy who's approval rating is in the crapper? I guess he needs the far right too.

One more thing....

I also heard Hillary called McCain to congratulate him on being the Republican nominee. It's a bit presumptious, but a very adult thing to do.

Bob,

I think you have a typo in this story.. Hillary won Texas - not Mr. Wonderful.

Also, some simple addition this morning shows that the states Hillary has won have 258 Electoral Votes, while the states Mr. Wonderful has won have 179 Electoral Votes. Taking into account that both have polled almost neck and neck with McCain in a one on one contest, shouldn't that be important to the Dems?

Finally, do you know anywhere that you can see a timeline of primaries with Dem and Republican turnout for each? I ask because it seems as if there are A LOT more Dems voting in the primaries than Republicans. Although this could be due to McCain having it locked up more recently, it seems as if the Dems are more energized.

I found it interesting that Cuyahoga county and Franklin county in Ohio have some of the largest African American populations in the state. Obama goes to court to get the polls to stay open until 9pm only in those counties, and he won. The judge feared "certain" people might be disinfrancised. Did those "certain" people not know that the polls close at 7:30 and to get out and vote by then? The polls closed everywhere in the State at 7:30 pm except those two counties. They stayed open til 9pm. That was wrong and in the end it did not help him. I am already getting tired of this "change and hope." His political tactics are no different than the seasoned Washington insiders.
